The East County Northstar was formed by local African American citizens to give the 47,000 + Black residents of East Contra Costa County a voice. We are online newspaper offering editorial and opt-Ed’s articles on various aspects of Black Life in East Contra County. Often times local and national news is diluted and dispersed from a non-Black perspective. Many Black East County residents feel frustrated when our stories are ignored and misrepresented. This online paper is meant to empower, enlighten and inspire the Black community.
